Abstract

The advancement of modern nanotechnologies has required the development of new sustainable biomaterials, in line with the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. In this scenario, the use of ethyl cellulose-based oleogels as bioderived and biodegradable thermoplastics is promoted. By characterizing and optimizing their biological properties, the thermoplastic character of oleogels can be exploited for the fabrication of green and sustainable scaffolds for tissue engineering.
