The main question that is driven my research concerns the development of integrative approaches that allow to propose novel concepts and new visions of environmental management regarding the non-stationarity of climate conditions in the Anthropocene. My main focus belongs to the understanding of the critical zone functioning and evolution from pristine forests to heavily contaminated river socio-ecosystems. Based on a strong background in environmental geochemistry and soil sciences, I developed during the last eighteen years crucial complementary skills in hydrology, soil functional ecology, forestry and ecotoxicology that help me to design, organize and coordinate interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary projects to contribute valorizing scientific knowledge toward actual societal needs. My favorite topics relate to the study of the trace element biogeochemical cycles and their interaction with the water, carbon and nutrient cycles in forest. During the last 15 years, I specialized on the Rare Earth Elements cycle in forest and their speciation and ecotoxicology in contaminated river basins.
