Researcher with a PhD in engineering with focus on sustainability topics. My research focuses on using advanced Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methods in combination with computational approaches like machine learning, agentic-AI, mathematical optimization, agent-based simulations, and spatial analysis. My research has addressed sustainability inquires in different sectors (e.g., agriculture, construction, chemicals), and at different scales (i.e., product, supply network, and territorial level). I like a building software and complex systems.
As part of SUSTAIN, I develop methods and tools to help the design of more sustainable production and consumption systems. Some examples involves the development of machine learning models and AI-workflows to estimate missing data (e.g., characterization factors, emission factors) and the automatic construction of Life Cycle Inventories. I am currently dedicated to integrate semantic web technologies into the AI workflows and LCA domain.
