I hold a PhD in Control, Optimization, and Foresight Studies with specialization in Life Cycle Assessment and eco-design for bioprocess and material systems. I also hold an MSc in Sciences for the Industrial and Urban Environment and a degree in Mining Engineering (Environmental Engineering and Mining Safety specializations). My research integrates quantitative environmental assessment with systems optimization to evaluate and improve the sustainability of alternative production pathways. I specialize in ex-ante and parametric life cycle assessment, product environmental footprint methodologies, resource efficiency and sensitivity analyses, dynamic lifecycle inventory modeling, and multi-criteria decision-making frameworks. My work emphasizes circular economy principles, including end-of-life pathways and waste valorization. My professional experience spans environmental impact assessment, optimization, and remediation across diverse sectors: fossil resources (natural gas, coal), biological processes (biomass production, bioenergy conversion, wastewater treatment), and advanced materials. At LIST, I contribute to multidisciplinary research programs addressing steel production sustainability, nano- and microcellulose innovation, the environmental footprint of European food systems, and Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approaches for emerging bio-based materials.
