PUCHOT Laura

About

I am a materials scientist specializing in polymer science, with extensive experience in the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced polymer materials. My research focuses on the molecular design of polymer networks and the development of high-performance polymer systems with tailored properties for demanding applications. Throughout my career, I have worked on the development of innovative polymer network architectures, with a strong focus on understanding and controlling structure–property relationships. My research aims to establish links between polymer chemistry, network structure, processing conditions, and final material performance, enabling the design of materials with enhanced thermal, mechanical, and functional properties. My research activities have covered various application fields, including transportation, aerospace, energy, and advanced manufacturing. More recently, my work has expanded towards functional polymeric materials, including smart materials, functional coatings, composites, and materials for advanced processing technologies.

Mission

As Group Leader of the Responsive Polymeric and Particulate Materials (RPPM) group at LIST, I lead a multidisciplinary team working on the development of innovative polymeric materials. My role involves defining and implementing the group's scientific strategy, fostering interdisciplinary research activities, developing collaborations with academic and industrial partners, and supporting the translation of scientific concepts into application-oriented solutions. I oversee research directions combining polymer chemistry, materials design, processing, and advanced characterization to address emerging challenges in materials science and engineering.
