Alberto Vinicius S. Rocha (or simply Vinicius) holds a B.Sc. in Agronomy (2022) from the Federal Institute of Pará (IFPA, Brazil) and a M.Sc. in Soils and Plant Nutrition (2024) by the "Luiz de Queiroz" College of Agriculture (ESALQ), University of São Paulo (USP, Brazil). Currently (2024 - present), he is pursuing a PhD in Sciences Exactes et Naturelles at the University of Luxembourg (Uni.lu) and develops his research as PhD Researcher within the framework of the MATRICES/FNR/CORE/2023 Project (PI & Supervisor: Dr. Kate Buckeridge). His work is in the field of soil biogeochemistry and microbial ecophysiology, with a focus on the interaction between microbial traits and soil organic carbon (SOC) turnover in agroecosystems, especially in the fraction derived from microbes (microbial necromass). To this end, it uses methods from biochemistry, molecular biology, analytical chemistry and isotopic ecology.
