About

I am a researcher who is eager to develop the sustainable materials of tomorrow with extensive experience in polymer chemistry, polymer processing, and composite materials. I develop and characterize polymeric materials and new (reactive) melt processes ranging from polymer synthesis to recycling. My work spans over 15 years, focusing on the reactive extrusion, processing, and recycling of polymer-based materials. I have a deep interest in optimizing these materials for mechanical durability, sustainability, and industrial applicability. My research has contributed to various industries, including bioplastics, floor covering, tire manufacturing, and advanced composite materials. I have participated in 15 international research and development projects, and 6 industrial ones. Throughout my career, I have led numerous multidisciplinary, collaborative projects, applying my expertise to drive innovation in sustainable materials, notably in the field of bio-based polymers and non-isocyanate polyurethanes. In addition, I envoy developing specific processes, ideally reactive ones, using melt processing equipment to improve material dispersion, reactive compatibilization, mechanical recycling and controlled chemical degradation. Lately I also had the chance to be involved in project on the development of new materials for additive manufacturing applications both for material extrusion and selective laser sintering. Characterizing both materials and processes, including their modelling is also one of my main activities. These results have been summarized in peer-reviewed journal papers, patent families and a trade secret. I am passionate about solving industrial challenges through research and fostering the next generation of scientists through mentorship and supervision.
