I obtained my MSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and earned a PhD in Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies from the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School (Slovenia) in 2012. I subsequently held postdoctoral research positions at Brown University (USA) and at CEA-LETI (France). In 2016, I joined the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, where I currently lead the Chemical Processing of Transducer Materials group. My research is driven by the ambition to address fundamental scientific questions while linking them to practical applications. I work on the chemical synthesis and characterization of electronic materials, with a particular focus on developing innovative processing techniques that enable devices with enhanced or entirely new functionalities. My main research interests lie in ferroelectric materials, complemented by work on transparent conductive oxides and printed metallic materials. Recent highlights of my research activities include the realization of transparent piezoelectric haptic devices, the integration of piezoelectric thin films on glass substrates using light-based annealing techniques, and the development of inkjet-printed transparent antennas for Bluetooth communication.
